Interview on Dontstayin
I've just done an interview for Dontstayin, ahead of my gig at Unique Music in Norwich on 26th December. Dontstayin is a UK-based, hugely popular clubbing event and photo website. You can read it here.
Fade Away Getting Nearer
The mix package on the Fade Away single is gettting nearer completion. Original Mix and Dumb Dan Mix are now done and dusted. I've put up a preview of the original on my myspace page. The Dumb Dan Remix is phat as anything - more mixes coming from Scandall, DJ Sender and Leonid Rudenko. There's also mixes from Lebedev, Pimenov and Openair (the first of these is massive in Russia already). Not sure what the final tracklisting will be yet - will be released sometime in 2007 on Starview Records in Holland.

Silly Season
Couple of really cool gigs lined up for the tail-end of December, including Unique at Pams House in Norwich in the UK on the 26th and the ever-brilliant Club Pepper in Groeningen in Holland on New Years Eve, where I'll be sharing the decks with Jody Wisternoff from Way Out West and Sebastian Davidson. More travelling coming up in January, including dates in Poland and with any luck, my debut in Dubai. More info coming soon.
Remix Machine
I've done a ridiculous amount of remixes in the last year, I've got a few more to finish then I'm probably going to take a little break to concentrate on writing some more of my own stuff. But in the meantime the remix saga continues - there's a few more on their way from me, including Ricky Stone - "Shanghai Taxi" - Red Recordings (UK), John Ashby - "Posh People Cant Dance" - Palace (Spain), Ledge - "Cyclone" - Ledge Music (France), and The Adjuster - "Sweden" - Dumb Recordings (Sweden). Just staple me to the mixing desk.
Dark Sweet Vinyl
My remix of "Dark Sweet Piano" by Wally Lopez vs Dark Suite is finally out on vinyl. Big support from Nick Warren, Jody Wisternoff, David Gausa, Flash Brothers, Andy Moor, Mashtronic, Chris Lake, Cheshire Catz, Dumb Dan, Sonny Wharton, Static Revenger, DJ Livio, Tim Andresen, DJ Rollo, Stian Klo, Mike McKenna, Patrice Strike, Mark Dynamix, Goodwill, DJ Rap, Onno Van Velzen, Timo Garcia, Mike Hiratzka, Lewis Dene, Griff Manumission, etc etc etc.
Get it now from Juno.

Astana, Almaty and Moscow...
...were great fun as usual.
In Astana I wound up playing two clubs, 69 and Hollywood. The first was a fashion party and I was accompanied during my set by a Jazz Accordion Player (I'm not joking), who absolutely rocked. In Almaty, I played Da Freak (still one of my favourite clubs in the world!) for the 4th birthday celebrations of the Set Session Radio Show on Energy FM, in the company of local stars Sniper, Timoffey and Serega. Big thanks to Nour for another fantastic weekend, and to Denis for looking after me in Astana!
Over in Moscow, I had my first gig at Saxar, a small but
perfectly formed club with a really up-for-it crowd. After the gig, we did the usual after party rounds, winding up at Gorod and a couple of other insalubrious establishments. Met up with young Norwegian producer/DJ David Sense (more cake?), and bumped into Guy aka DJ Hyper and his entourage in the backroom at Gorod (the big Nokia-sponsored event that was due to take place that weekend was cancelled at the very last minute so everyone was wandering around town in search of the next party!) Big ups to Kirill, Yulia (so drunk!) and Misha for organising everything.
If you want to check out what it was all like, there are some pics from Da Freak here, pics from Saxar here, and videos from Saxar here (thanks to David Sense for the vids!)

Site Upgrade
My website's had a few improvements made to it. Still sticking to the blog format, but it's all slightly better organised with sections for audio, gigs, video, biog etc, making use of all the best that Web 2.0 has to offer... There's even a nifty little app so you can IM me directly from the site. Go and check it all out at www.moussaclarke.com.
While we're on the subject, my blog is also mirrored at www.myspace.com/moussaclarke, moussaclarke.livejournal.com and moussaclarke.vox.com so if you're a member of any of those, please feel free to add me :-)

Back Into The Fray
I've just taken a few weeks rest from gigging, which was all very well and good, but time to get back at 'em! This weekend I'm off to Kazakhstan - I'll be at Club 69 in Astana on Friday followed by Da Freak in Almaty on Saturday. I always have a great time over there - can't wait!
Then next week I'll be back in Moscow over at Club Saxar - first time I've played this particular club so I'm really looking forward to it.
December looks like I'll be in Ukraine, Netherlands and also back here in Blighty. More news here soon!

Vinyl Out
Couple of my recent remixes - Dave Lambert - "House in Play" and Simple Minds - "Different World" are now available on vinyl. Please ask your local vinyl emporium or check out places like Juno.
I'm fairly sure the vinyl of Wally Lopez vs Dark Suite - "Dark Sweet Piano" is also imminent, although you can already buy that in digi direct from Factomania.

Get Connected
Yesterday I finally finished my remix for Slovenian house music don Eddie F. I've been a big fan since being introduced to his productions after playing in Slovenia a couple of years ago. His wicked piano track "Connected" has been bubbling all summer, in its Original and Can Costa mixes. Promo on my remix is starting now, and it will be out on Eddie's own label F-Recordings at some point. You can check my mix out on the player on my website, along with all my latest and forthcoming remixes...

Autumn 2006 Mix Session
I put this mix together a month and a half or so back but never got round to posting the link on here. It's had a run of radio play on stations like Net Fm (Belgium), La Mega (Spain), Radio Erre (Italy), Dynamit FM (Russia) plus will be on Dean Facer's UCOH show on CRMK (UK) this weekend.
You can download it here or check out the nifty little player on my website or myspace page.

Theme Magazine
I've been asked by Theme Magazine in the US to write an article on my DJing excursions to Almaty in Kazakhstan. Theme is a stateside magazine covering Asian culture. Not sure when it will be published yet but will post something here...

Blog Stuff
Ok my inner geek has finally won the day. I blog pretty frequently on my main website, but never have the time to copy everything over to myspace and livejournal. So I've been trying to find a painless way of posting simultaneously to all three, and it looks like I've finally figured it out (if you want to perform similar geeky trickery, check out these guys)
I've also worked out how to offer e-mail subscriptions to this blog - click here (or check out the subscription forms on my homepage/myspace profile)
Anyway... now that's sorted, I can stop messing about and get on with this electronic music malarkey - big ups :-)

Love Key and Fade Away
My tracks "Love Key" and "Fade Away" have just been signed to Slammin in Germany and Starview in Holland respectively. "Love Key" features vocals from California's Kathleen Fisher (pictured) who's been working with the likes of Filo & Peri, while "Fade Away" is a collaboration with Nick Hanson and features Daniel Sherman on vocals. Remixes on "Love Key" include the supremely talented Jody Wisternoff from Way Out West, US big room hero Static Revenger and France's excellent electropop purveyors Ledge, while "Fade Away" has Russia's Lebedev, Newcastle's Openair and more tbc... Release dates will be sometime late 2006 or early 2007...

Belgian Light Brigade
This weekend I'm off to Versuz in Hasselt to play for the launch party of the new Oven Ready night in Belgium. Joining me will be Sucker DJs and local don Dimix. It'll also be another official launch party for the Oven Ready Volume 1 compilation (which will be released soon, I promise!) after our previous successful launches at Vega in Copenhagen, Zona in Moscow and Turnmills in London.
Then I'm back in London on Sunday for some daytime electro after hours madness courtesy of Dya Y Noche at the Light, together with big London circuit faces Shane Watcha and Ninja Cowboys. Should be suitably wobbly :-)

Dave Lambert and Simple Minds
Just finished two more remixes, for Dave Lambert - "House in Play" (Progressions, Belgium) and Simple Minds - "Different World" (Absolutely Records), both should be out later this year. You can check out previews on my myspace page.
Also imminent Julianne - "And I Love To Say Goodbye" for Japanese label 19 Box and DDL Feat. Rob Li - "How Do You Do" for Italy's Oxyd Records.
Things are now getting sooooooooo busy on the remix and production front that I've decided to hire someone to work alongside me on the studio side of things. So I've been working with Kevin Edge on the Simple Minds and Julianne remixes - he also played guitars for my tracks "Love Key" and "Fade Away" a while back, and is a damn fine sound engineer and programmer to boot - looks like he may become a permanent fixture for my future productions and remixes!

Salacious Egg
Tonight I'm playing at Egg in London, for the launch party of twisted nasty house purveyors Salacious Record's room at Papadiso. Should be another large one... Also playing will be Maverick, Simon Hills, and over in the Basement the legendary Mr.C. Check out the Salacious website here.

Eden Exhibition in New York
You may or may not know that I used to live in Paris in the early 90s, and during my time there I used to write occasional articles for a little magazine called Eden, one of the first ever publications in France to cover the club and rave scene. It's now being included in a new exhibition at the Visionaire Gallery in New York entitled "Megazines", featuring "back issues, rare out of print titles and the best in contemporary independent publishing". Castles, Fast Cars, Broken Planes, Lost Luggage
Ahem. Its official, chaos reigns this summer.
Oreldance was about as much fun as you can have with your clothes on, a huge soundsystem, a castle as backdrop and 3500 up for it party people. I found myself stranded at 6am with my 10 new best friends and not a promoter or hotel room in sight. Oops. We spent the day by the river accompanied by vodka until the lovely DJ Amira plus driver came to rescue me and we raced back down the motorway to Moscow (only) just in time for my flight.
Gurnmills lived up to it reputation the week afterwards - Mashtronic rocked the joint as did Tania Von Pear. I didn't do too badly either, even if I say so myself, and Tania and I finished off the night with some very drunken back to back action, with a packed T2 still whooping and jumping way past closing time.
Then a sublime party at another castle in Russia, this time in Vyborg, a couple of hours away from St. Petersburg. Another few thousand revelers under the stars - Wonderland Avenue and I took the proverbial roof off - well if there had been a roof, it would have come off ;-)
The airline gremlins started to bare their teeth this weekend - a couple of delays and missed connections saw a late arrival in St.Petersburg and an unplanned stopover in Frankfurt on the way back. All in a weekend's work - although this weekend just gone the mogwais were definitely history ...
On Friday I was due to fly to Kiev to play at Privilege, and due to a combination of recent events (see the news) and a certain Dutch airline's incompetence, I never made it. I wont bore you with the details, but after enduring the delays and missed connections caused by all the current security paranoia, one of the planes I was on broke down mid-take off from Amsterdam. Stranded in Schiphol airport - with literally nothing on me except my passport and the clothes I was standing in (see this for what I mean) and with no other possible onward connection to Kiev that same day, I had no other option but to go home (this flight was of course also delayed and to top it all they managed to lose my luggage - so it was a fruitful weekend)
It's actually the first time I've ever missed a gig in my entire career. Anyway big big apologies to everyone at Privilege and to those who came expecting to hear me - I hope I will make it back to Kiev soon - as long as events dont conspire against this next time!
Back into the fray tomorrow as I head off to Lubiaz Castle (yes another castle!) in Poland for another big openair do. I'm sharing the bill with Sebastien Leger (one of my fave producers right now) and Germany's Azzido Da Bass - check out the venue pic! So... please keep your fingers crossed for me as I head back into the big mess that London's airports are currently in...

Going Places at The Gallery
Click on the pic for the flyer for next week's party at Turnmills. See you there :-)

More gig action - Holland, Russia and Turnmills
Ibiza and Portugal were both a blast a few weeks ago. In Ibiza I played Bora Bora, which rocked on a tuesday afternoon (at least judging by the maskless spiderman's facial expressions I did ok ;)) then Mike Monday took the roof off at Acquaholic at Privilege. I then made my way over to Portugal - at BB in Peniche they were screaming enthusiastically on a Thursday night, on the Friday Swell in Lisbon saw me play for four hours without wanting to stop, and on Saturday Green Hill in Foz Do Arelho was rammed with its usual insane party crowd. Looks like Im back in the autumn so all good.
Managed to fit in a trip to Holland too - I was back at Club Pepper in Groeningen which is always a wicked night - see the pic for the view from the decks!
This weekend Im off to one of my favourite haunts, Russia - I'll be spinning at a big open air party in Oryol, cant wait for this one.
Then next weekend Im back for a rare gig in my home town! On 21st July I'll be at The Gallery at Turnmills for Going Places along with German/Finnish electro house combo Mashtronic, who have been making a big name for themselves over the last year or so with remixes for Bedrock, Sexonwax and Oven Ready. Also playing will be Going Places resident and London's own first lady of filthy house Tania Von Pear - Mashtronic and I will also be joining her earlier in the evening on her MoS Radio show. This is all even more splendiferous since this will be the UK launch party for the forthcoming Oven Ready compilation, and will also be Mashtronic's UK debut... Don't miss!
Anyway, after that I'm off on a much-needed holiday for a couple of weeks, but I'll be back at it in August with dates in Ukraine, Poland and China... See ya!

Ricky Stone, Dave Lambert and more
I've just finished off my remix for Chinas no.1 DJ Ricky Stone's "Needle Queen" and I'm putting the finishing touches to my mix of Belgian DJ Dave Lambert's "House in Play". The former should be coming on Red Recording in the UK, while the latter will see the light of day on Progressions/Mostiko over in Belgium. You can check out the Ricky Stone remix on my myspace page.
Busy as usual on the remix front after that - In no particular order:
DDL feat. Rob Li - "How Do You Do" - Oxyd Records (Italy)
Eddie F - "Connected" - F Recordings (Slovenia)
Simple Minds - "Different World" - Absolutely Records (Italy)
Julianne - "And I Love To Say Goodbye" - 19 Box (Japan)
Dervish feat. Inaya Day - "I'm Keeping You" - Molacacho (Spain)
Time for me to invest in that laptop so I can work during flights methinks :-)

Ukraine, Ibiza, Portugal
Muchos giggos over the next 10 days. This weekend I'm back in Ukraine with the excellent DJ Sender for more album promo parties, then next week I'm off to Ibiza to play for the pre-party for John Acquaviva's new weekly Acquaholic promotion (Mike Monday is playing the main event at Privilege later the same night), then I'm off to Portugal for four gigs in conjunction with DJ Romao and Noiteglobal: Thursday at BB in Peniche, Friday at Swell Club in Lisbon, Saturday at Green Hill in Foz do Arelho, followed by some afterhours madness back in Lisbon if I'm still standing. Wish me luck!

Wally Lopez and Keith Thompson Remixes
Just finished remixes for Wally Lopez - "Dark Suite Piano" forthcoming on The Factoria in Spain and also on Keith Thompson - "Break For Love" for Waking Monster in the US. Next up I'm finishing off Felicia - "House Power" for VOTU in Miami, Dave Lambert - "House in Play" for Progressions in Belgium, and Ricky Stone - "Needle Queen" which should be coming out on Red Recordings over here in the UK.
Couple of things happening over in Germany, my remix of BURNED - "Schneid" is featured on the new Ministry of Sound Clubber's Guide to Germany compilation, and Lickin Records look set to re-release Dave Lambert - "Yeah" including my remix and the original version as well as a brand new mix from Dub Deluxe.

Overblogging...
I already blog fairly regularly here: http://www.moussaclarke.com, which is where you can get all my latest news... And I'm also myspaced up like the rest of the universe at http://www.myspace.com/moussaclarke...
...but, those of you that know what I get up to will know that I spend a fair bit of time gigging in Russia, and from what I can work out, LiveJournal is currently the blog community of choice there, so I thought I should have some kind of presence here too.
Anyway, whether I update this as often as my main site remains to be seen, but will keep checking on this over the coming months!

Dennis aka Static Revenger gives me big props on the hugely popular Power Tools radio show in Los Angeles - listen here. (Dennis: Great to make your acquaintance too bro - your stuff rocks!)
Across the other side of the world in Beijing, local dance luminary Zhang Youdai devotes a whole show to my label Oven Ready. Check it out here.
Thanks for the support chaps!

Schneid is out
You can now buy my remix of B.U.R.N.E.D - "Schneid" on Bikini Records... My vocal remix is on the vinyl (available from all good record stores such as Juno) otherwise the instrumental is available exclusively at >Beatport as a digi release. Huge amounts of support from Jonathan Ulysses, D-Fuse, Tim Sheridan, Paco Buggin, Deepgroove, Andy Moor, Flash Brothers, Static Revenger, DJ Linus (Exun), John Acquaviva and loads more...
Some selected comments:
DJ Linus (Exun, Germany) Really like that one :) Big ups
Tim Sheridan (NastyDirtySexMusic, UK) I like a lot, sounding a little like U2 at their unforgettable fire best (which was the Eno influence mostly). I will play this.
Static Revenger (USA) LOVE the piano line in the instrumental... nice work, as, apparantly usual...
Jondi & Spesh (Qool, San Francisco, USA) both tracks sound totally cool. nice combination of twitchy bits and floaty bits. dig!
Paco Buggin (Beatfreak, Spain) it's number 1 in my chart for february
Martin Villeneuve (Canada) love the instrumental! Sounds real tight :o))
Flash Brothers (Israel) We love it! will play already the instrumental mix this coming weekend, love the melodic piano feel & guitar baseline. Gonna play on our popular usa radio show HOUSE OF FLASH as well
Franco Mulero (El Divino, Ibiza) This is dope bro!
Andy Moor (Tilt, UK) Loving the instrumental on this!!! Great work :)
Mashtronic (Germany) the instrumental is very cool
Jonathan Ulysses (Space, Ibiza) Like this track, good chords after the second break.
Fred Numf (Netherlands) The vocal mix is excellent. Quality House music here.
Cheshire Catz (UK) I absolutely love the BURNED remix... the off kilter drums make me wet!
Filthy Rich (Mixmag Future Hero/Gatecrasher, UK) 'Schneid' has a wicked deep feel to it with its rolling guitar bassline and weird foreign vocal. Top stuff. Great for those deeper moments in your set.
D:Fuse (The Move, USA) Thanks for sending - dig the instrumental and will be featuring it on the show.
Yves De Ruyter (Belgium) Nice rmx
Sonny Wharton (Trashed, UK) like the instrumental man!!! thanks ;o)
Jerome Isma-Ae (Jee Productions, Germany) I love the track “Schneid (Moussa Instrumental)”, nice Pads and great Sounds!!!!

Russia Tour Imminent
I'm back in Russia from next weekend to start a tour to promote the forthcoming Oven Ready Volume One Release. I start off in Ekaterinburg on 24th and will also be taking in Moscow, St.Petersburg, Ufa and many other cities. More info here soon...
More remixes
Just finished a remix for my friends Sniper and Almatronic over in Kazakhstan last week. The track is called "Cintetici" and is currently unsigned (although that should change soon). I've leaked out a couple of copies to some friends and its got some great feedback from Scumfrog, Jody Wisternoff and Static Revenger so far... Will post here as soon as it has a definitive release date.
Currently working hard on remixes for Dagio - "2 Try", forthcoming on Oxyd Records (Italy), Pacific & Vandyck - "Pump Up The Volume" on Starview (Holland), Dave Lambert - "House in Play" on Progressions (Belgium), Wally Lopez - "Dark Suite Piano" on Factoria (Spain) and Felicia - "House Is The Power" on VOTU (USA)... Then I will probably need a holiday :)

Remixes, remixes and more remixes
Reactions on the last few remixes I've done have been great. Lots of support from all and sundry (will post some of the feedback up here at some point) and... more remix offers.
On the cards, remixes for Oxyd Records (Italy), Votu (USA), Starview (Holland), Deepgroove's new imprint and more in the pipeline.
Now, just need to find enough hours in the day to actually do them :)

Estonia
Just came back from a weekend of gigs in Estonia. Friday in Johvi (in the East of the country) was particularly great - up for it crowd and fantastic atmosphere - will be back there later in the year I hope! Saturday at Angel in Tallinn carried its fair share of somewhat surreal camp since for some inexplicable reason I shared the bill with Dana International, and "la diva" was somewhat difficult to upstage with my electro house beats - not one of my better gigs, but I guess we'll put that one down to experience ;-)

Schneid ist Fertig
I've finished my remix for B.U.R.N.E.D - "Schneid", which will be coming out on Bikini Tracks in Germany. Really pleased with how its turned out, and the label seems chuffed with it - hopefully people will like it :-) Spoken to the label and I'm going to post it on my Myspace page for people to check out... Promo will be starting in the next couple of weeks, via Franky Gee at Bikini Records and Great Stuff's powerhouse of a record promoter Rainer Weichold (aka DJ Raw). Do check out their excellent Sound Supreme radio show!

Love Key Revisit and Remixes
Been hard at work in the studio recently. Firstly the vocals for "Love Key" are finally done. Kathleen Fisher (from the band Fisher in California) has done an amazing job, along with Ron on co-write duties. I've retouched the track quite a bit and its sounding great - going to really push the boat out and go for recording some live strings, and as soon as that's sorted I should be able to finish the track once and for all.
Also been cracking on with some of those pending remixes, and very soon I should (finally) have finished my take on Portuguese stalwart DJ Romao's "Blow My Mind", Slovakia's Andre Sedlak and Ian Carry with "Duduk", as well as the excellent Burned - "Schneid" for Germany's Bikini Records.
I'm also going to be remixing Sniper & Almatronic - "Cintetici" (the original of which I've been playing out to great reactions), as well as a new production from Russia's Vorontsov.

Happy New Year & S Rozhdestvom
Happy new year :) It's my first day back after the festive season so still getting my bearings. Although, if you're Russian and of an Orthodox persuasion, it's actually Christmas this coming weekend, so it looks like I'll be celebrating for a second time - I'll be in Krasnodar this Friday back at Nebesa Club, then onto Tula to play Sigma Club. S'Rozhdestvom! (Thanks to Nadja for the language tips)
Loads of stuff in the pipeline for this year - will post some more news up here very soon!
